Kinetic Architecture

TU Lisbon - IST, Portugal 2010

This master thesis research explores the dynamic relationship between architecture, its users, and the surrounding environment through adaptability, transformation, and interactivity.

By examining the origins of kinetic architecture and surveying the latest advancements in the field, it investigates how built spaces can respond to variations in spatial and functional needs.

The study culminates in the development of a responsive kinetic structure for a multi-purpose pavilion, demonstrating how the integration of emerging and existing technologies enables the design and realization of adaptable architectural systems.
